Beatrice (Bea) has entered the Pine Ridge Gingerbread Building Extravaganza and this year the winners will appear live on Gingerbread Showdown on Christmas Eve on Foodie TV. Her partner is Neal Ambrose who she is dating and hoping for more. She is a chubby, short girl and having someone like Neal, handsome and built dating her is a dream come true.

Curtis is Bea’s best friend and is in love with her. They had been friends for years but a year ago his feelings for her changed. He realizes that Neal is using Bea, but she only sees the man she wants and is clueless about his actions. He doesn’t get involved with the baking and leaves everything up to her, he says all the right things to keep her hooked while only thinking of himself.

Little by little Bea begins to believe that Neal is using her and as soon as she thinks that she finds a way to excuse what he does and goes back to trusting him. All she can see is a handsome man any girl would want wants her.

This was a beautiful story about a girl who only sees her size and not what is inside. A friend who wants to worship her and sees her as beautiful only can’t seem to figure out a way to go from the friend’s category to lover’s category.
