Divorced dad Birley Haynes is too busy raising his children and running his family's music academy to start a relationship. Then accountant Harmony Holdich, his high school sweetheart, returns home to Willow Springs, Vermont for Christmas and falls into his bed. She brings light and fun back into his life, but he can't brush aside the threatening incidents around his workplace.
Harmony hadn't expected a complication like Birley, especially so soon after the death of her unfaithful husband. With her life a mess, she plans to move across the country and start over. All she can offer him is a fling, but her heart yearns for more.
When the threats rise, how will Birley keep his children safe and convince Harmony to give love another chance?

“How could he concentrate on work with Harmony in his mind? He hadn’t thought of her in months, then bam. She was back, twisting him inside out as she always had.”—Harmony’s Embrace
I like second chance romances because I had one myself. They’re often bittersweet stories with a satisfying payoff, and a bumpy ride to get there. “Harmony’s Road” is like that.
Birley Haynes and Harmony Holdich were once high school sweethearts. As with most high school romances, they ended up somewhere else, with someone else. Life is like that. It’s also messy and filled with surprises.
Not surprisingly, Birley and Harmony find themselves unexpectedly free of their post high school spouses. Birley’s ex is immature, greedy, and manipulative. She’s taken off, leaving him with two beautiful children to raise, in the Vermont hometown he’d never left, so he could help his parents with the family business—a music school.
Harmony’s husband, a philanderer, passed away before their divorce could be finalized. She’d been living in Florida, working as a bookkeeper and doing okay for herself. She decides to visit family back home for Thanksgiving and finds herself confronting the “what ifs” with Birley.
Even better, there’s snow, and an arsonist on the loose! Between trying to save the family business and a second chance romance, the arsonist is, forgive the pun, the accelerant to the plot. But I like my holiday and second chance romances just a little more engaging and the arson subplot was distracting for me.
However, Amber Daulton’s fans will enjoy “Harmony’s Embrace.” She has another series, the “Arresting Onyx” books—which look interesting, and some standalone books too. I’ll be adding the “Arresting Onyx” series to my TBR shelf, for sure.
“ second chance romance about a man with Harmony on his mind…”
Thank you for reviewing!
Hi, Amber. I just saw this. I’m a nurse during my day job (when I’m not reviewing for the Paranormal Romance Guild) so I don’t check this dashboard often due to a busy work schedule — only when I’m posting another review or interview. So, sorry so late to respond! I wanted to say, though, I enjoyed “Harmony’s Embrace.” I’m a sucker for second chance romances. As I said in the review, I got a little distracted in the arson story…but I like your writing style! I did get a few of your other books to add to my TBR list. Thanks for the opportunity to review “Harmony’s Embrace.” BTW, I was wondering if you’d like to be the first author in our “From the Desk Of…” feature.
It’s something new. I thought you might be interested. This is the premise:
From the Desk of…
Here at the PRG, we’re always interested in finding the best way to showcase our authors, writer’s services and engage our readers. So, we’re adding a new feature to The Paranormal Romance Guild page and its sister pages, Paranormal Romance Guild, and The PRG Book Club.
We want to know more about you and your work process! To accomplish it, the new feature—called “From the Desk of…”, will ask standardized questions: Who were your creative mentors or cheerleaders? What does your workspace look like? When did you first know you wanted to be a writer/creative? Where were you when you made your first book or book-related sale? Why do you write in the genre you do? How do you support other creatives, or how do you choose a promotional strategy?
Then, we’ll toss in a “wild card” question, just to keep it fun. And we’ll ask you to showcase a book or service. We’ll post your brief bio, photo and links. Although we’ll focus on writers, we’ll adapt the questions to your specialty – writer, service provider, reviewer or reader, as necessary.
Remember, we review all genres and styles, including poetry, flash fiction, etc., and our reach is international.
To help make this a most successful joint venture with creatives, please spread the word! We’re inviting participants now, but you don’t need to wait to be invited. If you’re interested, just let us know.
If you think it would be fun, let me know at prg.giveaways@gmail.com
Thanks again and best wishes,
Sherry
