On the night of the full moon, a six-year-old human boy goes missing. When Boston North Pack Alpha Tobias Rogan is blamed for the disappearance, Tobias’s mate, Kyle Slidell, knows who is truly responsible: Rogue werewolf Saul Hughes, who has come to Boston seeking to remove Tobias from his rank. Permanently. And he is using members of Boston North to do it.

Immune to the powers wielded by Saul, Kyle is able to locate the child. But to rescue the boy and clear his mate's name, he must disobey a werewolf ruler and violate shifter law. And he might not survive the aftermath.

Tobias and Kyle are dealing with the events that occurred in Pennsylvania leaving Chal the Alpha of the City Pack dead, Tobias nearly dying from a silver bullet and another member of the pack also dead. Tobias is suffering from nightmares so bad that his screams can be heard by the entire pack. The only good thing that happened was the death of Melia who had a death sentence against her.

Saul responsible for everything that happened has once again escaped and Tobias and Kyle have no doubt that he will show up again sooner than later. Sooner is what happens when Kyle is attacked and despite his instance it was Saul he is met with skepticism. Tobias believes that Saul would not show himself again in their territory. Unfortunately, time proves that Kyle was right.

A human man, Trey and his six-year-old boy move into the apartments causing concern and the Anax, in charge of all werewolves in the United States requests that Tobias accept a woman, Candace into his pack. Tobias is given very little information but is unable to turn down the Anax. Upon meeting her Kyle is unhappy about her being in the pack and feels she could bring trouble.

Using his control as the Alpha Tobias gets her to reveal information about herself, she was used and abused by Saul, escaped and went to the Anax for help. Her fear is very real, and her old Alpha was no help and added to her fear. With what Kyle learned about her he is beginning to feel that he might have misjudged her.

During the full moon when the City Pack and Tobias’ pack went to shift and hunt the little six-year-old Mikey was kidnapped and blame points to Tobias. Information is revealed that he was taken by a white wolf and only Tobias is pure white. Kyle finds himself wanting to save Mikey and clear Tobias as being the kidnapper.

Pack members may be responsible, but Zane has put a compulsion on the pack to stay put until he arrived, but compulsion doesn’t work on Kyle, and he takes off putting himself in danger of facing consequences going against pack law and the Arkhon’s law.

Kidnapping, betrayal, lies, explicit sex and danger to a human child and his father. Kyle faces a death sentence for his actions in saving Mikey and Tobias can do nothing about it.

So much happens and all of it leads back to Saul.
