This was my first book in this series but won’t be my last. I fell in love with Griff Diamond and Clint Bishop almost instantly, two men who have been together for ten years and although their busy schedules, Griff a US Deputy Marshall and Clint a new up and coming author have somehow put their sex life in pause their love for each other never falters.
Clint uses social media communicating with other authors trading ideas and keeping his fans updated on what he is doing and updates about his partner and dogs. It is one such author, Dylan Hatchet whose communications with Clint start bordering on bizarre and enter into very personal territory. Clint has always tried not to hide behind Griff’s badge and has not really informed him of what is going on. But when Dylan begins sending him dirty pictures of himself and starts talking about things that Griff and him do together, things he should not know about he knows it is time for Clint to reveal everything to Griff but it is too little too late.
Believing that Dylan is far away in another state Clint lets his guard down and pays the price when Dylan drugs him and chains him. Dylan believes that he is saving Clint from Griff and Clint needs to draw on everything Griff ever taught him if a situation ever arose where he is at someone else’s mercy, which it has, and things that he can say and do that could save his life. Dylan wants to be with Clint and Clint has to use everything he has ever been taught to keep from being raped while making Dylan believe there is a future for them.
Clint and Griff are cavers and Dylan is determined to share that with Clint. He knows that Jewel Cave is where Griff and Clint first met and he wants to bring Clint there and prove he can make it better. While Dylan is planning a romantic time Clint is planning on ways to leave a trail for Griff who he knows without a doubt is searching for him. The hunt for Clint is on but I will not be revealing what happens, I will say that I was at the edge of my seat the entire time.
A beautiful story about two men who love each other; and who need to learn to make time for themselves. There was also a lesson to be learned on how to act if ever we find ourselves in a dangerous situation.
