This is not your typical book. This is more a collection of stories, poems, and allegorical essays. It took me a while to get into the writing style.
It is very lyrical and focused more like a character study rather than moved along by a specific plot line. There are dark fantasy themes, bordering on horror-esque at times.
That is not my personal preference in writing but it did seem to fit well with the overall tone. This is not a simple read but it should resonate well with fans of darker fantasy.
