Jaxson Duvall, bass player for the band Maiden Voyage wasn’t born into wealth or fame. He achieved it with hard work and a need to prove himself. To whom, well, that is the million-dollar question right there. When his foolish antics threaten to bankrupt him, it’s time for him to stop acting like a spoiled brat and grow the hell up before his band brothers find a new bassist.
Shephard “Shep” Newsome was the opposite. Thrust into the limelight at birth and cast out damn near the same way. When his indiscretions tarnished his family name, his father said no more. Humiliated, shamed, and shunned, he moved away to begin anew but trouble still seemed to find him. Tired of running, he puts down roots only to find himself right smack in the middle of it once again.
What happens when a Rockstar with more money than brains clashes with his neighbor who has a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas? You have a recipe for disaster… or rage-infused love.
Maiden Voyage series must be read in order as each book starts where the last one ended but is from another band members point of view:

Jaxson Duvall is the bass player for Maiden Voyage and just returned from Rocktoberfest. Jaxson lives rock and roll and thinks very little about other people and their needs. Proof of that is his neighbor Shepherd “Shep” Newsome who had to deal with Jaxson’s mowing the lawn at four AM in boxer shorts, loud parties and the only thing calling the cops does is a big fat nothing.
Two men as different as day and night living next to each other can only mean trouble, and trouble is what they got. Shep decided to throw his dog’s poop over the fence into Jaxson’s property and Jaxson was not going to let that go without retaliating and he retaliated with a catapult and weeks’ worth of his own poop. The result is a pool full of poop and a badly injured Shep who ran to save his little dog Daisy from harm. Now Shep and Jaxson are at war but it is one-sided because after seeing Shep hurt and knowing he was responsible Jaxson just wants to make amends, clean the pool, paint the house and hire a nurse to work with Shep while he recuperates.
While Jaxson tries to make up with Shep and finds himself having feelings for his one-time nemesis Shep is doing everything he can to keep his hatred for Jaxson alive and well but he finds himself falling for the rock star. This relationship proves that love and hate are very close and sometimes we mistake what our real feelings are. This relationship if it gets to that point will be one that began with hate and a pile of poop, true love can overcome a lot but hate and a catapult full of shit is quite a lot to overcome.
Another wonderful addition to this series, a series that should be read in order because each book ends and then picks up in the next book. I can’t wait for the next book and find out whose story is next.
