This elf thinks he knows what he wants… until fate shows him what he’s missing.

Alpha elf Wink has been fired from the North Pole, all because of a few ill-timed pranks, and now he’s been cursed to be a decorative figurine on some human’s shelf where he will sit for the rest of time. Unless… he can find his fated mate before next Christmas. Bitter, resentful, and far too cynical for his own good, Wink isn’t entirely sure if a lifetime of peace and quiet would be the worst thing. It’s kinda like retirement, right? If only he hadn’t ended up on this man’s shelf, he might’ve been happy to accept his punishment.

Omega Derek is tired. Like, all the time, for years, and he’s never been able to figure out why. He eats well, exercises like he should, goes to bed early, but he still wakes up every morning feeling like he’s run a marathon. He’s been to all the doctors, but none of the expensive specialists have been able to give him a reason. No one ever suspected that it might have something to do with what he’s doing after he falls asleep… or the part of his DNA that might be more than human.

All Derek wants for Christmas is to feel better. Instead, he gets love, a baby, and most importantly, magic.

Another wonderful story in the Santa’s Naughty Elves series written by various authors and all a delight for Christmas.

Wink works at the North Pole, and he has worked in every department with the same result, failure. Now he is working in the toy making department and has once again messed up although he wonders what was so wrong with adding an additional body part to Ken the doll.

Santa has had enough, and Wink is fired and turned into a Christmas ornament hanging on a tree. When the owner of the tree comes home Wink immediately recognizes the Omega as his mate but hanging on a tree doesn’t leave much room for a possible relationship. Every night Wink watches as a raccoon joins the cat for fun and games, mostly eating everything in sight.

Wink realizes that the raccoon is Derek his mate and he has to do something to help. It is obvious that Derek has no idea he is a shifter, and raccoons are nocturnal, so he awakens at night. Every morning Derek wakes up tired and using some of his magic Wink can turn himself back to his original form.

Wink is afraid of frightening Derek if he reveals the truth but unintentionally that is exactly what he does. He explains about the North Pole and tells Derek that he is his mate and also a raccoon shifter. Derek was adopted so he has no knowledge of who or what his biological parents were, so he and Wink go searching for any information about his past.

Wink also worries about what will happen to him when next Christmas comes, the time Santa gave him to find himself. Will he be turned into a Christmas ornament for life.

Derek accepts he is a shifter but is anxious to find out if his biological parents are still alive and why they gave him up.

This was such a sweet Christmas story, an elf who has failed in his life and is trying to be a success now that he has found his other half and a man who grew up never knowing he was a raccoon shifter.
