Aidan Cross is a billionaire known for his five star golf resorts. His newest project is on Cypress Key, Florida where he was heading to check everything out before construction begins. Unfortunately even a huge yacht is not immune to break downs and five miles from his destination that is exactly what happened.
When he realized that he was only four or five miles from Cypress Key he took the rounabout and headed in for the short trip that would eventually change his entire life. When he docked he saw a woman who caught his eye and when she was thrown off the dock he jumped in to save her. Of course before he jumped in he couldn’t resist punching out the man responsible for her fall, PJ Bartow the mayor’s son.
Casey Stuart and her Uncle Frank own the island’s only golf course and also run a tour boat business to bring in extra income. Like Aidan when she saw him she was struck numb until her nose dive off the dock. Bringing her to the doctor he realized he was concerned about her but he soon found himself arrested for assault by the sheriff who of course like many others in town were owned lock stock and barrel by the mayor.
Although Aidan swore he would not disguise who he was he found himself suddenly adding an “e” at the end of Cross hoping that anyone looking him up would not find him. It was Casey’s Uncle Frank who bailed Aidan out and insisted he pay it off by working with him and Casey until he had to appear in court.
Aidan had no idea what he would be walking into, crime and innocent people in town falling victim to the Mayor who left them no choice but to take loans out from him and give up part of their business in the process. After Aidan begins to get to know the people in town who hail him as a hero for punching out PJ he becomes convinced that there is trouble and he is determined to fix it.
Aidan is a man who believes that love is not in his future since money is all any woman sees when they look at him but Casey is the only girl that sets him on fire but now he has to hope that his lie about who he is and the fact that he is building a golf resort basically putting Casey’s Uncle Frank out of business can be forgiven because he realizes that she is the woman that he wants, but will his lies be too much to overcome.
Another wonderful addition to the Cinderella series and I loved each and every one and hopefully there will be more. There are quite a few surprises and secrets not too mention suspense.
