Charlotte is a military wife when her world crashed around her. Her husband Jared was going on deployment when in the car she accused him of cheating on her. Jared told her she was the only one when the car crashed. She was sure that Jared was alive and uninjured while she died and was resuscitated. When the general, Jared’s father informed her that he was dead grief became her constant companion.

For four years she lived her life never getting involved with anyone despite her friends constantly trying to get her to move on. It was at a bar her friend dragged her to that she met Simon Donovan, a man she felt familiar with and was shocked when she discovered he and his brothers were working on the house next door to her.

Now she finds herself attracted to Sy and wants to spend time with him trying to figure out what the pull is that she feels towards him. Sy like Charlotte had died and was also resuscitated so there is a definite connection they have, both brought back from death with gifts they never had before. Charlotte awakened with Savant Syndrome with the ability to calculate things she never could have before. Sy has secrets he doesn’t reveal to her.

As Sy and Charlotte get closer he does reveal he signed a contract with a private military group and has one mission left. What he does is top secret and can’t be revealed to Charlotte or anyone else. The relationship between Charlotte and Sy grows strong, and she finally begins to stop grieving for her dead husband and enjoys her new relationship with Sy.

Then Charlotte spots an SUV watching her home and begins to sense she is being stalked. It was when she was able to sneak up on the driver of the SUV that her life would take her into a world she could never imagine, a world full of secrets, lies and betrayal.

The first half of the book follows Sy and Charlotte as they begin a new life together and the second half of the book was nonstop suspense. Secrets are revealed and the truth of her past life is uncovered, leaving her in a state of shock and disbelief.

Charlotte and Sy are amazing characters whose lives connected due to circumstances I won’t reveal in this review. There are secrets, not just any secrets but huge unbelievable secrets, lies and betrayal that reveal the mistakes from her past and the lies she lived with without any knowledge of them.

This book will continue, and I can’t wait because there is so much left unfinished. It was not what I would refer to as a cliffhanger but just some things are left dangling.
