My apologies to Josh Lanyon……Seems like summer caught up with me and I seem to be a little late o the game. But my enthusiasm for this book cannot be stifled. Released May 27th, Josh Lanyon was to be my Memorial Day read…..just got pushed to the July 4th weekend.
Our first meeting with accountant and now Fledgling Detective Zachariah Davies, we learn of his inheritance to a Detective agency left to him by the death of his father. His personality is central to this story being a devoted son, bored with his job, newly single and gay.
The quirky characters brought before us were many, and our unsuspecting newbie Zach had many to deal with so I will start by #1 Alton Beacher. Alton breezes into the Agency wanting to hire Zach as his ‘Fake Boyfriend’ so he can come out as gay, thus able to obtain a divorce from his richer than him wife. Zach has not bought the idea but the 12,000 down and only need to go to a resort for the weekend and be seen around town with this guy helps soothe his fears.
Flint Carey has his own Detective Agency in the same area. He has offered to buy out Zach’s Agency. Zach and his sister disagree….But the 12,000 will be a game changer for a few months. Very slowly Zach comes to realize things are not all the seem an goes to a seasoned investigator for help….sexy, smart Flint Carey.
So now we have a murder mystery and a romance brewing……and other crazies I spoke of Ben, Zach’s ex boyfriend, and Alton Beacher’s crazy or not so crazy wife. We have the BESTEST Whodunnit……And keeping me entertained during the 116 degree heat wave in Arizona July 4th
I hope Josh Lanyon uses this as a stepping off for a series…..Please?
