A night to remember, a confession, and a lifetime of love in this small town, friends to lovers Christmas romance.

Andrew Lawson’s life in Sacramento has turned from being everything he dreamed of growing up, to a lonely place where finding someone special to share his life with is impossible. When the first person he meets on returning home for Thanksgiving is his childhood friend Link, it’s a reminder of happier times when his whole future lay in front of him. Agreeing to a drink before heading to his parent’s place is a way to reconnect, and a great way to start the holiday.

Link Stanton never considered leaving the small farming town he grew up in, but he misses Andy more than he’ll ever admit. Secretly lusting after a friend is bad enough but being in love with him is so much worse. One drink with friends seems harmless enough, after all, catching up on old times can’t be a bad thing, until beers turn to shots, and Link reveals how he really feels.

Everything could change, and if Andrew doesn’t remember Link’s heartfelt confession, they could carry on as friends. But, if he does remember, this could be either the worst, or the best, Christmas of all.

Andrew (Andy) Lawson left his small town to pursue a career as a hair stylist and wound-up living in the city of Sacramento. The city was a far cry from his small town where everyone knew each other, and everything you did was fodder for gossip.

Andy returns home on the holidays which he is doing now for Thanksgiving. Only this time it would turn out to be a life-changing experience. Passing the only bar in town he met his best friend Link Stanton, friends since they were little kids. Link convinced Andy to come into the bar and see some of their other friends and have a few drinks. A few turned out to be more than Andy expected, the last drink totally did him in.

Link, a farmer who would never leave the town took Andy to the balcony where he told Andy about his feelings only Andy remembered nothing after he drank the last drink. Link refuses to tell him what was said, wanting Andy to remember on his own with a promise if he doesn’t remember by Christmas, he will reveal it. Andy remembers nothing except taking the last drink after everything is lost.

Thanksgiving turned out to be better than Andy expected, and his time was spent with Link. Back at work where Andy is in huge demand and working six days a week from morning into evening he is surprised when Link arrives asking for a haircut. Link got his haircut and spent the next few days at Andy’s where they went Christmas shopping and to outdoor fairs.

Andy has never felt anything toward Christmas, he didn’t buy gifts just gave gift cards but spending time with Link his Christmas spirit seemed to come alive. Link has enough Christmas spirit for himself, and Andy. Andy knows Christmas holiday is coming up soon and still tries to remember what Link told him at the bar on thanksgiving hoping to remember before Link keeps his promise to tell him.

Work for Andy due to the holidays is hectic and keeps him too busy to even have lunch. Link makes another visit before Andy returns home for Christmas and like Thanksgiving they have a wonderful time together. Andy begins to see Link in a different light not just as a best friend he has known his whole life but as something more. Apparently, Link already knows that his friendship with Andy is much more, but Andy must catch up.

Such a beautiful story best friends one who has always wanted more and one who was oblivious to what could be. When you are best friends all your life it is sometimes hard to see past that to something more. While the two men reminisce about the past and remember the good times, they had growing up Andy begins to see the light that best friends can also be much more.

There are two more books in this series which I can’t wait to start.
