Griffin Wolfe once a Navy Seal is now the owner of a broken-down boat giving excursions in Mexico. Griffin was court-marshaled for something he was innocent of, but he couldn’t fight the lies and betrayals. Now he is trying to accept his new life which he had hoped would include a state-of-the-art boat with his pension only that pension no longer exists.

Hope Jones is a doctor of archeology in Mexico with her team exploring Mayan and Aztec ruins, a dream of a lifetime experience until she and her team are kidnapped by a terrorist,

Fidvi Awan. Hope and her boss made a discovery of Mayan treasure, and the kidnappers want the location. Her boss advises her to jump into the water and make her escape while the terrorists are busy beating him and the others.

Hope manages to escape but was pursued by one of the terrorists cutting his air hoses gave her the time to get free. Her boss told her to go to the Consulate and ask for Roth which she did only to find herself kidnapped again and taken to where the treasure is assumed to be. This time she has help with her escape in the form of Griffin Wolfe.

Griffin was approached by a secret government agency to protect Hope and get her to a safe house. When he sees a picture of her, he recognizes the woman he has longed for since first seeing her so there was no way he would turn down a chance to help her.

His surprise was equal to Hope’s when she sees the man she has dreamed about since seeing him now they find themselves together.

Griffin is given his dream boat to use and when the job is done it is his. Thinking that taking Hope to a safe house should not be difficult, he realizes how wrong he is, she will not go anywhere until her team is safe. Two stubborn people not willing to give in while fighting their attraction to each other.

The two of them are searching for information about Hope’s team, a team she will not walk away from and a team she knows is suffering while she is free.

Sex, lies, betrayal, surprises and suspense. Awan’s reason for wanting Hope besides the treasure is not something I will reveal in this review. When Hope and Griffin give in to their feelings, well it is something you must read for yourself, you won’t be sorry.

I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves military suspense and romance.
