I had just finished my first read for new to me author Brandon Witt; which happened to be his epic three book trilogy Men of Myth’s series. After that major undertaking, I was perusing his list on Amazon to look for other books Mr. Witt had written. Luckily for me his newest release Son of Money caught my eye.
Randall Morgan is the youngest son of one of the wealthiest families in Seattle, and has learned what kind of tight rope he must walk. His brother is married with a daughter Bailey who he adores. He has made changes in his life to separate himself from the money so he can live his own life and not be ostracized from the niece he adores.
Randall who is gay, walks to his own tune, relinquished his families inheritance and Daddy’s hold and taking the path that makes him happy, although not rich. He works pursuing his love for photography…but to make ends meet he moonlights doing massages for private clients sometimes with ‘happy endings’ and also does erotic photography with couples that sometimes result with the same benefits.
It is at this time he meets an old friend Noah Carroll. Randall wanting to adopt a dog, for himself and his adorable niece Bailey. Noah is the spokesperson for the Seattle Humane Association. Noah and Randall had shared a kiss as young teens and this meeting has sparked a flame in each of them; each wanting to see if a ‘they’ could be possible now as adults.
At this point, I can actually ask, Mr. Witt, “Where have you been all my life?” This author’s style is slow and steady, giving the reader time to feel each character. So when you start reading the pages, you feel you really know the people.
While Randall who has juggled his life okay so far, gets blindsided by rumor and hate thrusting him into the not wanted lime light. The newspaper is riddled with hate, innuendo and a bit of truth. An unknown person is looking to hurt him and everything he has accomplished, now possibly hurting his future with Noah he sees in his grasp. The secrets exposed, the hunt for who is doing this, his love for Bailey and Noah, the fear he could lose it all make this a wonderfully fulfilling love story. Brandon you have done it again for me…..5*****Star Read
