Tristan Todorov is a mage who travels alone as an unlicensed conjurer and a paranormal exorcist. His newest job is in Prague where a number of suicides have occurred in a luxurious hotel and it is up to him to discover what is responsible and put an end to it.
Tristan attended Scholomance a school for mages and he excelled coming out on top and being promoted but an assignment put an end to his future career, it was an assignment that put him in the position of doing what was required of him or doing the right thing, he opted for the right thing but has lived a life of loneliness and sadness.
Tristan set a spell to catch the demon causing the suicides only he got more than he expected when two demons appeared, one eradicated and one very naked demon who looked like his duplicate standing in front of him.
Jarek is an incubus who senses the inner turmoil that Tristan is dealing with and knows what he needs, not just sex which he gladly supplies but a need to love himself and love life, so although it might seems bizarre for him to make love with Jarek when he has taken on his appearance it is a lesson Jarek feels is necessary, to love life you have to love yourself.
The sex was wonderfully portrayed because it was full of emotion and in the end both mage and demon were wishing for more but since this was a short story I will have to wait till book number two for more answers. There was no cliffhanger just a need for more.
