Blinding Light is back on the road! Rory and Liam are even harder to be around than they were before, and Rory’s still in love with Kai. Everything’s going great, until Glenn, their drummer, has an unfortunate accident and can’t play the drums. Lucky for everyone his nephew, Devon is also a drummer.
Devon Grimes has played the drums since he was old enough to hold a stick, but he’s never been known for his responsible choices or showing up anywhere on time. After being kicked out of the band he helped form he’s relieved when Blinding Light asks him to step in and jumps at the chance. Now if he can just prove that he’s not the screw up everyone thinks he is.
Johnny Brown was lead singer in an up-and-coming band until everything imploded on their first tour. Now he’s hoping to find new members that he can rebuild his dreams with and hopefully avoid the drama that destroyed the band. He’s a fan of Blinding Light and he’s more than curious about their new member, but rumors about his past make Johnny wonder if the hot drummer is worth the trouble. #second chance romance, #Rockstar Romance, #age gap, #friends to lovers

Blinding Light is preparing for another trip to Rocktoberfest, Rory and Kai are still very much in love and Liam and Easy are still going strong. Everything in their world is going smoothly until Glenn, their drummer falls on a lego, well to be honest it was a floor full of legos thanks to his daughter. The outcome was a broken arm, and he will be out for a few months at least.
With Rocktoberfest coming up, finding a new drummer that will fit into the band seems an insurmountable problem until Glenn recommends his nephew Devon Grimes. Devon has had a bad reputation being thrown out of his band, coming late, leaving early and even not showing up during a gig. Now the band must determine if they can trust him. When they give him a try, he proves he has the right moves and knows most of the band’s songs, so they reluctantly accept him waiting for the shoe to drop.
One performance after another Devon proves himself until even Easy, the one member of the band not easily swayed agrees he is good. Devon is doing everything in his power not to make the same mistakes he made in the past because this is his last chance.
Johnny Brown, the lead singer of Anchor Grey is trying to find success, but it is difficult especially when two of the band members finally go too far and are fired. Now they have no drummer, and they need another guitarist, whatever could go wrong has gone wrong. Their manager advises them that they will be the opening act for Blinding Light, their big chance to prove themselves and shorthanded.
They get a temporary drummer, and they can switch around to cover all the bases. Things are looking up and they are able to meet their commitment to opening for Blinding Light.
When Johnny sees Devon, they are instantly attracted and there is hope that Devon could join their band when Glenn returns.
It was nice catching up with the band and seeing a new band reaching for the brass ring. Johnny and Devon are in love, and they are two men who know what it is like to hit bottom and now are fighting to reach the top.
Another wonderful addition to the Road to Rocktoberfest series a multi-author series, each standalone with each author’s personal touch on the rock and roll world. I highly recommend reading them all.
