Magdalena (Maggie) De la Rosa and her best friend and roommate Vanessa have moved to San Francisco to begin the next chapter of their lives. Their first night they went out to dinner and when Maggie looked out the window, she saw a handsome man looking at her and she was entranced. She has recently broken up with her boyfriend of two years, Kellen after finding him in their bed with another woman.
Cian De Marco is a rock star and a vampire, and he and his band only play in the club he owns, Club Royal. The band, The Lost Boys, Gage, Elvis and Cian’s brother Lane are all vampires and are not looking for fame, fame means appearing in the daytime and money isn’t an issue for them. Since Cian saw Maggie, he has been obsessed with her and when he sees her on line outside the club he has her, and Vanessa escorted inside.
For two hundred years Cian has never felt towards a woman what he feels for Maggie, and he is determined to get to know her in every way possible. Even with his ability to entrance her he refuses to he wants her to be with him willingly. Their first night at the club goes well but Maggie explains that she has just broken off her relationship with her boyfriend and is not ready to move forward with someone else.
Maggie can’t seem to get Cian out of her mind and when he asks her out, she readily accepts and when they wind up in bed both realize that they will not be able to ignore their feelings. Kellen doesn’t stop calling, insisting that Maggie is the love of his life and won’t give up but at this point she is hooked on Cian. Even after revealing what he is she can’t give him up on, vampire or not. The only negative is that she will never be able to have the babies she always dreamed about.
As their relationship moves forward their pasts come back to threaten everything that they were hoping to build. Someone from Cian’s past joins forces with someone from Maggie’s past and unfortunately Maggie is about to learn things that will shake her existence. Maggie thought that a vampire was all she had to adjust to, and she was very mistaken.
What happens when you find your soulmate and one will die and one will go on for eternity. Something Maggie must take into consideration. Maggie and Cain are an incredible couple, but they have a lot to deal with. There is romance, sex, surprises, secrets and everything you could want in a paranormal romance. This is the first book in the series but no problem because the next six books are already available, and I intend to get them all. It is winter, cold and there may be snow but who cares I will be sitting in my favorite chair reading this amazing series. This is not a cliffhanger series so I look forward to finding out who will find romance next.
