Ohhhh, a pleasant surprise is when you have enjoyed a new author and their novel AND there is a Book 2….Good times this weekend to immerse myself with Matt and Zeke.
The first book was the sorting out of a long term platonic friendship of Matt thinking Zeke was straight. The two young men, long time friends shared a flat they purchased together after college. Matt gay and proud magazine executive and Zeke a school teacher. It wasn’t until Zeke became undone when he feared Matt found ‘the one’ that his green eyed monster exploded, and the friends to lovers followed…
Vin George takes Book 2 further as Matt seriously had center stage more than not in the first book. Here Zeke faces many issues dealing with his past and hurts. We explore if Matt is ready to help Zeke fight his battles and deal with his own.
Vin George also adds a wonderful storyline with Matt’s son Matty coming to live with them temporarily. The author takes this moment with what their lives looked like; adding Covid and the countries lockdown in England. Working from home is hard with a child on zoom, one parent teaching on zoom, and Matt having to juggle riding a bike to the office for the room he needs to work.
The story is a delightful, wonderful screen shot of each person being who they are, and who they need too be for each other. Zeke has his past come raging into his now and Matt worries he wont be enough to help…
