A sleepy little town, Aspen Ridge, nestled in the Colorado Rockies, is experiencing major growing pains. As is Candle's adorable pup.
Former CIA agent, Candle Bearclaw’s new security firm, Terrabyte is expanding by leaps and bounds. When her best friend’s husband, a high-profile software entrepreneur, comes up missing, Candle and her husband, Miacoh, also the new chief of police, find themselves knee-deep in international intrigue.
The same day, an indigenous woman, Molly Reacher, pleads for Candle to take her convoluted case with identity theft overtones. Come to find out, Molly’s friend, a Native American woman, is also missing.
Cayson, an employee of Terrabyte Security is assigned to protect Molly as the company works through the intricacies of her cases.
Law enforcement are supposed to be all over both missing person cases until Miacoh discovers the indigenous woman’s case is nearly invisible. Will either be found alive?

Candle Bearclaw has opened her security firm, Terrabyte, and her husband Miacoh is the Chief of Police. Business is picking up until her receptionist and best friend Gabby comes to the office revealing that her husband Ben is missing. Candle and Miacoh will do anything to help find Ben and protect Gabby and the twins
Gabby has another problem with her in-laws who are determined to take the twins, and the first order of business is to find a safe place for them to stay. Now the firm is totally involved in finding Ben and his ex-partner who they are sure is responsible.
The same day Gabby’s husband went missing a native American woman comes into the office looking for help. Molly Reacher has had her charge cards used, is suffering from identity theft, threats and is being followed. Apparently, Molly was a victim of the same professor that plagiarized Candle.
Molly is also investigating the violence against indigenous women and the government’s blind eye to the problem. Although Molly is now involved with Gabby’s missing husband she can’t say no to a woman in trouble. She puts one of her employees Cayson Eriksson in charge of watching over Molly and she is set up in a safe house. Molly’s friend is also missing so that makes three people in danger.
With Gabby dealing with her husband’s office being ransacked and her twins she is no longer able to work, and Molly is put in her place. Molly also aids Cayson with security installations. Candle and Miacoh are in over their heads working three mysteries at the same time.
Candle and Miacoh are wonderful, and I loved catching up with them. The town is growing and so is Terrabyte. Gabby’s husband is in danger and so is Molly. Molly is still being followed and Gabby’s in-laws are watching, waiting for the perfect moment to steal away the twins.
I loved this book every bit as much as the first book in the series, mystery, romance and amazing characters. The problem with violence against indigenous woman and children is a major problem and it is not fiction it is reality.
