This Christmas Eve, a runaway Alpha and his first love find themselves sharing a hotel room— and a second chance at love — in this swoon-worthy holiday short story.
Megan Lane wasn’t planning on seeing Nate Porter, her old high school flame, ever again. After all, Nate left town years ago without so much as a goobye, leaving her heart shattered and her ego bruised. But when her meddling best friend turns a holiday wish into a toe curling kiss, fate steps in to awaken feelings she thought long dead.
Nate Porter did the right thing by walking away from Megan after his first change. At least, that's what his family always said. After all, he couldn’t risk Megan getting tangled up in the dangerous world of pack politics. But one look at her at that party, and his wolf knows the truth: she’s his fated mate, and leaving her was the biggest mistake of his life.
When a sudden snowstorm forces them to share a hotel room on Christmas Eve, the unresolved feelings between them spark into something more. By morning, Nate knows he’ll do whatever it takes to win Megan back — for good this time.

It is Christmas Eve and Megan Lane is celebrating at her friend Sarah’s house. The house is filled with people she knows and yet she feels alone and sits by the window watching the snow fall.
When a voice calls her name, she knows it is Nate her high school sweetheart who left seven years ago without a word.
Sarah invited Nate hoping that he and Sarah could put their past behind them, something Megan is not ready to do. She has questions but there don’t seem to be any answers, so she leaves. Driving while the snow is falling heavily, she crashes into a snowbank and since it is Christmas Eve will have to wait for a tow truck that hopefully won’t take too long.
Freezing in her car and waiting, Nate shows up and drives her to the hotel he is staying at, and it is a familiar story, no room at the inn. Agreeing to share Nate’s room for the night with nowhere else to go, she will finally learn the reason Nate left. Nate has missed her for seven years but how can he explain to the woman he has always loved what he is and the danger he could be to her.
As a wolf shifter he was made to realize that the first few years after the first shift could be filled with danger and that was the last thing, he wanted to put Megan through. Would she accept him, would she forgive him and is a second chance possible.
Short, sweet story about telling the truth and hoping for the best. Will Megan accept Nate who she has never stopped loving and can they forget the past and begin again. So much happens in this short story, an attack, lies and betrayal and overcoming.
