It has been three years since Bree Taylor’s life was destroyed. Visited by military men informing her that her fiancé, Bradford Anderson was killed in action in Afghanistan her dreams of marriage and children would never happen, and she couldn’t picture herself with anyone but Brad.
Brad left her millions of dollars, but she only spent it on buying a house. Her best friend and Brad’s best friend Adam Kincaid a billionaire has been there for her ever since Brad was killed and has remained her best friend. Now her life will change once again.
Adam had a one-night stand with a woman who now shows up at his office holding a baby she claims is his. She is going after her dream job and does not want to have a baby holding her back, so she gives the baby, Lilly, to Adam to raise.
Adam has a big deal in the works with the Danvers company who are very conservative and would not welcome a single man with a baby and no wife, so he asks Bree to marry him and help raise his daughter. Bree has always wanted a child and now she is being given the gift of a daughter and is willing to marry Adam, who is her best friend.
Together Adam and Bree care for Lilly both having fallen in love with the infant from the first meeting. They don’t bring in a nanny and are determined to care for her themselves and Adam cuts his office hours to spend more time with Bree and his daughter.
Adam was married once before to a woman who just wanted his money and when he caught her cheating, he divorced her. Now married he is hoping his acquisition with the Danver’s company will work out. His only competition is the man he caught his ex-wife sleeping with.
Bree has the child she always wanted and finally accepts that she loves Adam, but she will not sleep with him without love. Adam wants to remain friends or so he says. Then something happens that puts Bree in danger and he is willing to do whatever he must to save her.
Romance, a child who changes two people’s lives and an enemy who will do anything to get what he wants. This was a fast read, and I can’t wait for more.
