ntensely psychic Sentinel 10 (Amanda Griffith) is still picking up the pieces of her heart after the death of her first love, Alain. But as she struggles to build a new life with James, an unknown enemy begins killing Sentinels the world over. Only a Sentinel 10 has the power to stop him.

On a journey from the Mexican cenotes to the skyscrapers of New York, Amanda must tap into her inner strength to defeat the astonishingly powerful enemy-or die trying. But will her relationship with James survive this mess? And what about the mysterious white cat that keeps appearing everywhere, a heartbreaking reminder of her premonition dream when Alain died... Could Alain still be alive?

Packed with high-stakes excitement, unforgettable action sequences, and plenty of romantic tension, The Crystal Skull continues the critically acclaimed (Kirkus, The US Review of Books) Diamond Rose in a riveting new adventure that will leave readers craving more.

While I enjoyed the first book, this second one seemed to suffer from some of the same things as book one in character development.

The story itself is riveting and you really get into it anytime the author stops making you read about the boyfriend that gets his feelings hurt every time our emotionally unstable heroine gets all weepy (or crazy) thinking about her psycho ex-boyfriend.

I was amazed she could suddenly be turned into super Sentinel 10 and to be honest I was forced to start skipping pages to keep the plot from getting hung up in pages of high school angst (these are supposed to be adults).

So to keep this short, there is a really great story buried here but you have to work to get it and once again I have to say the story though was outstanding and addicting with enough action to get your appetite going. But too soon and too often the author moved away to more mundane/boring things.

So as with book one I am left trying to balance my love for the real plot with the problems I found; which leaves me trying to come up with a fair and accurate rating but I think once again that 3.5 Stars is about right.
