Betrayed by her first and only love, Doctor Wilhelmina Van Helsing fled to Paris intent on finding a cure for the blood plague devastating the country.

With her many talents and sheer force of will, she’s become the preeminent supernatural physician in all of Europe. It seems nothing can stand in her way—until her former lover shows up unannounced and quite unwanted.

Rafael Dracul is fiercely determined to regain Mina’s love after breaking her heart twenty years prior, but his plan is complicated by the fact that he’s being hunted by the Order—a shadowy organization now determined to stamp out the blood plague. If Rafael can’t clear his name, find the true origin of the plague, and convince Mina he’s a changed vampire, more than their future will be lost.

With the Order’s poisonous influence edging France ever closer to an all-out war between humans and vampires, Mina agrees to set aside her anger—if only to uncover the truth of the threats against her adopted homeland. But helping Rafael means getting close to him again, and soon she’s faced with an impossible choice—risk the lives of everyone she cares about, or risk her heart on forgiveness.

Twenty years ago, Dr. Wilhelmina (Mina) went with her father to the House of Dracul in Hungry where he was trying to come up with a cure for the Dracul family’s curse of vampirism. Born blood vampires, the family has taken a vow to never turn anyone other than their married mate. It was there that Mina met Rafael and fell in love and it was there that he broke her heart.

Mina has devoted herself to continuing her father’s work seeking a cure and now more than ever that cure has become desperately necessary. A blood plague has hit France , desperate people starving and with no hope are volunteering to be turned and the numbers keep increasing. Dedicated to a cure and treating both supernaturals and humans, Mina’s life has been a lonely one until the Devil (Rafael) reappears.

The Order a group determined to kill all those who aren’t human is searching for Rafael the vampire they believe responsible for the plague. Mina’s reaction to seeing Rafael is mixed, hate and desire and she isn’t sure about his involvement with the plague. When the Order kidnaps Mina it is Rafael that saves her and then reveals what was behind his actions twenty years ago and his belief that it is his older brother Laszlo that is possibly responsible for the plague.

Mina is still unsure of what Rafael tells her, but she knows that his vows of love for her are sincere. She has never stopped loving him, but she has twenty years of loneliness and pain to overcome and is not ready to commit to him. Her best friends Daphne and Charlotte, members of the les Dames Dangereuses, are determined to protect Mina and get answers and know that they will have to try to find answers from the Order. Since les DD has joined forces with the Order, they have access to their headquarters and hopefully access to discovering their plans for Rafael and the other supernaturals which both women are part of, Daphne a vampire and Charlotte a werewolf.

What everyone discovers is that the Order is out to destroy all those that are not human and that the Order is ruled by hate. Mina is in danger, and she finally faces the reality that even after twenty years she loves Rafael, always has and always will but she still is not convinced they have a future together, an immortal and a human will not have a long life together.

Plans are in the works to uncover the Order’s secrets, but it is dangerous to all involved. Mina is still dealing with her feelings for Rafael, love and hate. The search for Laszlo is a priority while dealing with the Order at the same time. Rafael blames his brother for losing the love of his long life, Mina.

Mina and Dracul a story about their love is known to those who love vampire stories but in this reviewer’s opinion this one was the best. A love so strong that even after years is as strong as ever.Secrets, surprises, romance, sex, lies, betrayal and amazing characters.

Okay, as much as I loved this series, I have one complaint, IT’S OVER.
