'I heard the sound of my heart breaking and pretended I didn’t.'

I'm 19 and on the cusp of maturing into an adult alpha, when I make a friend I know is going to mean something special in my life.

Although we only see each other at Christmas, with every passing year our bond gets stronger. Before long, I can see where this is leading.

Have I found my fated mate? If fated mates are real, then I think so, but regardless, I want this omega to be mine - if he'll have me.

The only problem is my Pack Alpha's son has his sights set on my future mate, and the two sets of parents might be organizing an arranged mating.

With all the obstacles placed in our way, will I be able to protect my omega and claim him for myself? Or will I lose the one that fate has chosen for me?

Talius is a nineteen-year-old Alpha who loves Christmas and decides on Christmas Eve to sneak downstairs to look at all the decorations. What he finds is a small pup curled up under the tree and decides it is his Christmas present from Santa Wolf. Before everyone comes down, he takes his present up to his room where they shift and introduce themselves.

Irian and his parents, his very influential parents, have been invited by the pack alpha for the holidays only Irian snuck away and laid under the Christmas tree enjoying some alone time. Irian’s mom is a member of the Council, and he comes from a very wealthy family.

Tal takes it upon himself to look after Irian until Irian’s mom uses her alpha persuasion to command him to join her at the dinner table with the alpha, alpha’s mate and their son Mar.

When Irian switches seats Tal sees Mar trying to feed him only Irian isn’t one to just take his pushiness without fighting back. After dinner Tal takes Irian around the grounds and introduces him to the other alphas, refusing to allow any of them to show any signs of disrespect because he is an omega.

Irian is younger than Tal and before they know it the holiday is over, and Irian is returning home. Every year at Christmas Irian and his parents return and every year he and Tal worry if they have gotten tired of each other but that is not something that will ever happen although as an omega Irian worries.

When Tal turned twenty-two, he was at the age of maturity and Irian was eighteen. Unfortunately, Tal was not there when Irian arrived, this was their third Christmas and now Irian is convinced that Tal doesn’t want him, or he would have shown up. Irian never figured out that political influence between the pack alpha and his parents might have something to do with Tal not being there.

A marriage arrangement is in store for Irian between him and Mar, a joining of the two families would increase their influence and an omega has no choice but to agree.

Irian’s parents never really knew their son, or they would have realized that he wouldn’t just go along with what was expected of him.

Tal and Irian must fight if they ever hope to be mates, and Irian is reaching his nineteenth birthday when he can choose. This was a case of hierarchy, who rules and who must obey, and the alpha always wins or do they.

I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves shifter books. There are many things that happen to Tal and Irian, but I won’t reveal them.
