Tammy Wilde came to Ireland seeking escape…from memories of the accident ending her career, her abandonment by an unfaithful husband, and a series of haunting dreams…only to fall in love with a man sharing her unfaithful ex’s name.
Kevin Padraic Shea is the opposite of that other Kevin. Understanding and gentle, he helps Tammy forget her pain as he reveals the fascination of the Irish countryside.
When he tells her the legend of the ghost haunting his family, Tammy doesn’t realize her presence will awaken a hatred surviving centuries, as a specter rises to claim a lost love and kill the last male relative of the man who cursed him.

Tammy Wilde and her partner Israel Marelnikov are the headliners in a ballet company until a car accident changed her life and left Israel dead. Tammy’s leg was badly injured and her ballet career over, but the worst was yet to come. At the hospital her husband Kevin Shea stood over her and stated that he would not be a nursemaid to a cripple and wanted a divorce, in addition he wanted nothing to do with their son and gave her full custody. His only attempt at kindness was to tell her to file for the divorce on the grounds of adultery, something he was happy to admit to.
Divorced, her best friend and partner dead, and her dancing career over she decides to go to Ireland to regroup leaving her son with his grandmother. Fionnula the girl who has taken her place as lead ballerina suggests she go to Gradhgarrai, Ireland where her cousin will be happy to play tour guide. Her hope is that a month away would be all she needs to accept the changes her life has taken. She also hopes that the dreams she has had since her accident will once and for all go away so she can sleep without fear.
When she meets Fionnula’s cousin along with his adorable toy poodle named Ginny, she gets a shock when he introduces himself as Kevin Shea. What are the chances that she leaves one Kevin Shea in the States only to find another one in Ireland. Fortunately, Kevin Shea of Ireland is called Padraig by family and friends, so he isn’t a constant reminder of her ex. True to his word Pat, as she calls him shows her all the wonders of Ireland, old castles, old ruins, ancient areas that have her mesmerized except for Kilmeath Castle which is rumored to be full of ghosts and evil.
For the first time in her life Tammy finds herself with a man who makes her comfortable and makes her laugh something she has had little reason to do. Her dreams are still plaguing her and when she discovers what the dreams mean she will again find herself in danger, this time from a broken heart.
At her insistence Pat takes her to Kilmeath Castle and reveals the story about the Irish lady and her Spanish lover and the fact that it involves his family. A five-hundred-year-old love that has brought only death to those who attempted to live in the castle and Tammy could be next.
Tammy and Pat find themselves falling for each other, but she is leaving soon, and his home and career are in Ireland so what future is there for them. There are surprises, secrets, romance and an evil waiting to destroy another member of the Shea family. I especially enjoyed my brief but colorful trip to Ireland thanks to Ms. Sweeney.
