The Russian Woman is the first book in a series featuring Michael Thorne.

Colonel Anya Volkova is a patriot who loves her country. She works in the Russian Ministry of Defense, where she's an important part of Moscow's machinery of war. She's more or less content with her ordered life, until things start to fall apart.

Her younger brother is sent to fight in Syria. Her boss wants her for his mistress, and if she doesn't give him what he wants, her career is finished. She discovers a secret plan for a first strike on America. She has to stop it from happening, but what can she do?

Michael Thorne is a Specialized Skills Officer, an expendable spy. He's fed up with the games played by Langley's chiefs, but there's not a lot he can do about it. Worse, there's a mole at Langley who is about to make his life more complicated.

Thorne is assigned to make contact with Anya, but he's not ready for the powerful attraction that ignites between them. As the world spins toward nuclear war, he's caught up in a deadly web of intrigue and betrayal that will force him to choose between duty and love.

After following the Project Series and our band all over the world, with over 20 books under his belt our Alex Lukeman has opted to another voice; another new series!

Fans of Mr Lukeman will love this one as well, as he had me reading The Russian Woman far into the night. Michael Thorne is our American spy; job label Specialized Skills Officer working undercover out of Langley. We are dealing again with all the US Agencies with the cast that is made up of back biting, egotistical, job jealousy; that make up a dangerous work environment. Annnd now we have a mole !

Colonel Anya Volkova is a patriot who loves her country. She works in the Russian Ministry of Defense, brought up by a family who lives and breathes The Motherland. Anya had lost her younger brother, lives with a sick mother and her world is beginning to take on a new horror.

She reaches out to an old teacher she had many years ago to help her. Here she meets Michael Thorne. Michael reminds me of Nick Carter, even to his inborn “premonitions” like Nick’s itchy ear. Michael Thorne is contracted to be Anya’s handler, while everyone at Langley wants the job. The timing of his story will haunt you. The USSR is pulling out all its stops to take over the world. Anya is the holder of the future….of The World !!!
