Jacob Nelson (Jake) has lost his husband and Christmas has become a holiday he hates.
His husband Blake left him a year ago on December 26 a day after Christmas for a new man he insisted didn’t exist, now Christmas is just a reminder of everything he lost and although his feelings for his ex are now nonexistent his feelings for Christmas are still fresh in his memory.
When his best friend Amanda offers him a week at her cabin in Florida due to her pregnancy, he happily accepts, warm weather, and a change of scenery are right up his alley, the only negative is all the Christmas cheer, decorations and music surrounding him. When he meets his neighbor Alex a vacation friend of Amanda’s he feels something that has been lacking for a year, attraction.
Alex always decorates a golf cart with Amanda for the Golf Cart Christmas Parade now all his plans seem monumental without help and he asks Jake. Jake in his usual Grinchy way refuses and just wants to be left alone. With some insistence Alex finally gets Jake to agree to assist him and it would take a golf cart to bring two lonely men together.
Such a sweet short story of finding a possible HEA and embracing the Miracle of Christmas.
