Hunted by the Black Widow Queen, Issylte--a healer with the verdant magic of the forest--must flee Avalon with the two finest knights in the Celtic realm, both wrongly accused of treason. The trio travels to Bretagne, where Issylte heals a critically injured wolf and obtains fiercely loyal, shapeshifting allies.

In mystical Brocéliande, Issylte becomes a warrior priestess of the Tribe of Dana and otherworldly mate of the Blue Knight of Cornwall, discovering with Tristan a passion that transcends all bounds. When she becomes the Lady of the Mirrored Lake, sworn to defend the sacred waters of the Goddess, Issylte must undertake a perilous quest to discover what priceless object lies hidden in its murky depths.

As a nascent evil emerges in a fetid cave, Issylte and Tristan must face a diabolical trio that threatens their lives, their love, and their kingdoms.

Enchanted. Enflamed. Entwined. Can their passion and power prevail?

We pick up where book one ended, Issylte, Tristan and Lancelot heading to Lancelot’s castle in Bretagne in Northwestern, France. Issylte left Ronan the elf she loved behind to try to build an army big enough to fight her stepmother the Black Widow Queen and return to her home. It was decided that Issylte would assume a new name and she became known as Lady Opale.

Queen Morag will be marrying King Marke, Tristan’s uncle and there is no doubt that he will meet the same fate as her father, death at the hands of his new queen. At Lancelot’s castle Tristan is determined to train Issylte so that she can protect herself if the need occurs while he trains daily with Lancelot’s knights. Of course, there is another reason Tristan loves training her, he gets to hold her. Tristan is deeply in love with her but knows her heart belongs to the Elf Ronan; his only hope is that in time she will love him.

So many things happen to Issylte, she saves a wolf’s mate, a wolf that Tristan can communicate with his Druid magic. Saving the female wolf indebted the wolf leader and his clan and they promised to always help Tristan and Issylte whenever they are called. The Queen, the dark wizard, Frocin the leader of the dwarves and Indulf the knight that betrayed Tristan are all plotting to find and kill Issylte and to ensure that the Black Widow Queen rules all the territories.

Danger is all around, Morgane a powerful fairy who loved the dark wizard, created a powerful orb for him and only with her sight was she able to see that he was playing her for a fool. Now the orb is hidden in the Mirrored Lake and if he gets access to it, he would be unbeatable and a danger to everyone. Issylte must find the orb and when she defends the lake from a dwarf she is named The Lady of the Mirrored Lake. She also becomes a priestess and member of the Tribe of Dana.

Tristan’s dream comes true when Issylte accepts that he is her mate and although she will always have love for Ronan her heart belongs to Tristan the man who promised to fight alongside her against her enemies.

There is no shortage of evil and those perpetrating it. Evil fairies, dark wizards, dwarfs, even a princess willing to do whatever it takes to get Tristan for herself. This series has it all, mermaids, shifters, knights, fairies, elves, romance, surprises, secrets and violence. I have one question, when will book three be out? I can’t wait!
