Brandon Falcon is a Navy Seal whose last mission was compromised and although they managed to rescue the American Ambassador they were sent to save he lost men and one of them was one of his best friends Rafa. There is no actual confirmation that Rafa is dead and Brandon is determined to return to Hondorus and find out.

Brandon fought the powers to be and finally was given extended leave but on one condition, he was to rescue a missing American doctor, Dr. Mira Phelps who was taken by the rebels. Once that mission was successful and he hoped it would work out better than the last one he would then return to searching for his friend.

Mira was in Hondorus in spite of being warned not to go and she seemed to be the one the rebels wanted. She was posing as a nun but that means nothing to rebels and mercenaries and she was beaten, drugged and taken. Brandon found her and rescued her but they had a long dangerous road ahead of them. Although Mira introduced herself to Brandon as Sister he couldn’t help the attraction he had for this feisty little woman who followed him through the jungle without complaining.

Mira realized that keeping a secret from Brandon was not the right thing to do and revealed her secrets, she is not a nun and she is in Hondorus looking for the Blue Spider Orchid which legend says has amazing regenerative healing powers. She knows if she can find it she can use her knowledge of plants and hopefully create a medicine that would prove the legend is true.

Mira and Brandon spend long days and nights hiding sometimes just one step away from being caught. They have to travel for a week until a plane would arrive to rescue them but they had to get to the pick up point and had to stay alive. A lot happens to them including putting themselves in danger when a young woman is near death. Her illness required them to travel back to the clinic the place where she was beaten, drugged and captured but she is a doctor and saving lives is what she does.

I don’t want to give too much away and that would be very easy for me to do since I want to reveal everything but I will say that this book was exciting from the first page to the last, there was betrayal, romance and, and nothing more I can say. I can’t wait for the next book and hopefully it will be someone from this book who I haven’t mentioned. I haven’t mentioned a lot but that is because you need to read it for yourself.
