Jack Soroka is a werewolf and Talia Morgen is a witch making them an unlikely pair to be in a relationship, but it was attraction at first sight for them both. Werewolves and witches do not hang out together never mind mate due to the constant use of wolfbane witches are known to use which is poison to werewolves.
Jack and Talia have a friend, Alec Ronan, a vampire known to stay away from werewolves and witches but as far as Talia and Alec are concerned, they are like brother and sister. When Alec is found murdered stabbed, his head nearly decapitated and hanging from a tree Jack and Talia decide to work together to find his killer. Unfortunately, the search for the killer would not come without its share of danger.
Talia suspects that the killer has knowledge of witchcraft since Alec was hung like the Tarot Card, the Hanged Man. She seeks help and advice from her two friends, part of her coven. Then Talia is arrested for the murder evidence appears that points to her, no doubt the killer is successfully setting her up to take the fall, but who.
As Jack works to get Talia out on bail and continue their search for their friend’s killer someone is working just as hard to get rid of them. A Hellhound is searching for them, nearly destroying Jack’s truck and destroying Talia’s home. A Hellhound does not stop until its job is finished and its job is the death of Jack and Talia. Fighting to prove her innocence, running from a Hellhound while hoping that she and Jack live long enough to have a future together seems to be a losing battle, but they are not giving up.
