"Black Dog & Rebel Rose is the best Urban Fantasy love story I've ever read. Skriker and Rose are better than Bonnie and Clyde. Better than Bogart and Bacall. Better even than peanut butter and jelly."
--TwoLips Reviews, upon granting BDRR the Recommended Read and Reviewer's Choice Awards

Half-angel Rose has always flown solo, and that's just how she likes it. Trained since youth by her angelic father in the ways of battle, she flees the heartache of a broken childhood by hunting the nightmarish creatures that hide in the shadows. When she discovers a nefarious plot involving a mysterious witch and her parade of grisly horrors in an abandoned California town, she eagerly treks out to see what blood can be spilled, only to discover that a boy from her past--now grown to manhood--has sniffed out the same prize.

Skriker, the Halfling son of a demon and a stripper, is a supernatural hunter with nothing to tie him down. Between gore-splattered hunts slaying things that go bump in the night, he fills his days and nights with women, cage fights, and hard, fun living. But when the tattooed, Harley-riding bad boy makes a trip out to the rotting burg of Paradise Hill, he finds that he isn't the only hunter to arrive on the scene...and she's someone he was certain he'd never see again. Fierce and beautiful, Rose forces feelings he'd buried long ago to rise to the surface, drawing him into a partnership that neither ever expected.

As the unlikely pair battle their way through the ruins, Skriker and Rose must survive not only the vicious enemy pursuing them but the reawakened--and forbidden--emotions that both were sure had expired...emotions that might make or break the fate of Creation itself.

Rediscover the first installment of Dani Julian's cult-followed urban fantasy adventure, reimagined with enhancements by co-writer Amanda Schrader and film producer/actor Vincent van Hinte (Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Walking Dead), and featuring stunning new artwork by the creator. Come join the hunt!

Rose is a Nephilim, half angel and half human. Rose was present when demons attacked her mother leaving her mom dead and her with a scar down the side of her face. Fortunately, her father and uncle arrived just in time to save her life. Her father took her to a safe place where she would learn normal schoolwork and how to fight. Her father held nothing back when he was teaching Rose leaving her bruised and bloody.

Erik is half demon and half human, and he suffered like Rose, his mother and four-year-old brother killed by demons. Erik’s father left his evil side to do good and worked with the angels. He brought Erik to the same safe place as Rose and over time they grew to care deeply for each other. At the age of seventeen Erik left to find his father who was kidnapped. He asked Rose to leave with him, but she was only fifteen and said no.

As an adult Erik changed his name to Skriker and became a hunter. Information reached him about a place where demons gather souls, he jumped on hisHarley and headed to the town happy that he was the only one who knew about the place. This is the place where he will face evil the likes of which he never saw and the girl he could never forget, Rose.

Rose is aware of the horrors going on in a town and as a hunter she is armed and ready to face whatever evil shows up. Believing this hunt is hers she comes face to face with Skriker and reluctantly agrees to work with him. Both remember the past and what they meant to each other but is it too late.

Four hundred years ago Zafira a human witch with connections to the Pit decided to collect souls to create enough demons to wage war on Heaven. Her work towards that goal is coming to fruition and the evil she unleashes is beyond the norm. Ghouls, vampires, demons and humans experimented on and turned into creatures from horror movies.

On a scale of 1-10 for goriness ten being the highest this book is 11. This book is not for the faint of heart the evil perpetrated by Zafira left me with goosebumps and chills. This was a book about good and evil but who was the winner in this battle.
