This book is part of a series, but each book focuses on a different couple, as such it can be read as a stand-alone, although past characters reappear.
The combination of shifters and magic was solidly done. The premise and the world building gave a very promising start. Added to this, the romance between Thomas “Bulldog” Baird and Edward had moments of pure sweetness and moments that were pure heat! The revelations of Bulldogs past and his interactions with his mother were great in moving the story.
Unfortunately the overall flow of the narrative seemed awkward at times. It made it harder to invest in the plot and the other characters in the book.
Overall this is a fun read.
