Eva Bowers is once again on the run with her drunken, abusive father. Bounty hunters are after him and when they catch up to them her life will forever change. Eva’s dad beat both her and her mother until the last beating left her mother dead since her death she has become his whipping board and her life has only been filled with fear.
Three bounty hunters, Dean, Winston and Clay have her dad tied up but he isn’t worried because he knows Eva’s secret, she is a spirit shifter able to shift into her spirit form and appear invisible to those around her. While the three men are busy she shifts and begins to untie her father only once again she is caught. Dropping the knife she is totally unaware of the fact that her father has gotten his hands on it and has it to her throat. He doesn’t hesitate to cut her and drags her over rocks cutting up her legs.
Eva is not the only shifter because the three bounty hunters are all shifters, a bear, a wolf and a raptor and when they confront her father again he offers to let her go for his freedom. The three men don’t hesitate and bring her home with them. For the first time in her life she feels safe but everytime she does something that used to get her hit she once again reverts to fear.
Dean and Winston show Eva the kind of care that she never could have expected from a man and her feelings for them grow. In the shifter world monogamy is not always practiced and it is possible for her to legally marry one while being married to another man following the rules of mating.
Dean’s wolf pack takes her in as one of their own and each and every pack member is willing to go to her defense if her father once again shows up. Unfortunately that is exactly what happens and the truth of who she and her mother really are is revealed. We do get a taste of it but I would have liked to know much more especially how it affects Eva now.
Shifters, witches, ghosts, secrets, lies, sex, suspense and the story is a reverse harem story all that and more all between the pages of this book so what more could you want. I know this is the first book in the series but I don’t know if Eva’s story will be continued.
