Julian and Taylor are wolf shifters who have managed to fight and escape Scarab an evil cult and have found safety in Peru with a clan of shifters. Now raising their three-month old twins Malcom and Luna the only thing standing in the way of total peace and comfort is the constant pain Taylor suffers since she gave birth.
Then Luna is kidnapped no doubt who has taken her, Scarab still exists in spite of them believing they were destroyed. They let their guard down and they have only a week before it’s too late. Taylor will have to reacquaint herself with the magic she shelved and try to close the portal used to take Luna in order to protect their son.
Gossip is that they are currently housed under an amusement park, so a happy place filled with good and happiness will become a place of evil and death. They arrived in Florida and while trying to come up with a plan there is a knock on the door and someone calling himself Mad Dog reveals the horror of what Scarab did to him. An experiment turned him into a monster and he wants revenge and the cure, a cure that will also rid Taylor of the pain she is constantly suffering. In spite of the man’s story Julian is not ready to totally believe him but there is no time for questions only answers and time is running out.
With Mad Dog’s help and the maps he provided they have a plan, but a plan full of danger. Dark magic and an occult group determined on releasing demons have Luna but it becomes evident that the magic Taylor performed has released a force now occupying her body. No matter what Taylor will fight with everything she has to protect her daughter and bring her home but it’s easier said than done. For every step Taylor and Julian take the cult is two steps ahead of them and there is still the unknown question, are they being led into a trap.
Another wonderful addition to this series and another story that pits good against evil. The love Taylor and Julian have for each other is amazing and hopefully that love can lead them to success. This is a book that is very dark at times and scary in the fact that cults exist today and although dark magic may not be involved, they still cause chaos and death.
