Until he finds out he’ll be sharing a suite with his ex, charismatic Benton Aldridge—a British scientist cuter than the baby animals he studies. Mike makes it clear he has no intention of getting back together with Benton, but sharing a suite makes it almost impossible keep his distance.
As they climb over volcanic peaks and swim with manatees through sparkling jade-colored water, can they also heal past wounds and take the next step in the evolution of love?

Michael Davis Benton graduated from art school in New York but gave up his dream of being an artist when caring for his mother and siblings and paying bills changed the direction of his life. He went to work as an account manager and put art on the back burner, very far back, so far back that his boyfriend Benton a British Scientist couldn’t take seeing him become someone he didn’t recognize and so he took a job in the UK and left.
Even after a year Mike still misses Benton and his feelings for him go from hate to love. He fails to realize the reason Benton left, Mike is a man who always waits for the other shoe to drop while Benton is always positive and seeing the man he loved give up his dreams for a pay check was something he could no longer face.
Mike’s Aunt Penny who was once his uncle Paul accepted who she was and in spite of the reaction she got from family and friends she went for it. Now she is leading a cruise to the Galapagos Islands and wants Mike to give watercolor lessons. Mike has just been given a big promotion along with a big raise but he can’t say no to Penny and agrees. Mike does not take well to air travel and his solution is an Ambien, only this time he mixes it with champagne resulting in me laughing so hard out loud by his actions. When he arrives for his transfer flight at Miami Airport he swears he sees Benton but then he is convinced it is still the Ambien in his system. Surprise, because Benton also appears on the cruise ship.
Penny failed to tell Mike that she hired Benton as the wildlife expert on the trip but the most shocking thing was the fact that one of the very wealthy tourists needed an extra room for her granddaughter, yes you are right that meant that Mike would be sharing a queen size bed with his ex who he still loved. Forced together Mike fails to tell Benton about his promotion and let’s him think that he has quit that job to resume painting, not a lie just an omission of the truth.
I won’t go into too much detail about this cruise and Mike and Benton’s relationship but I will share the fact that a telegram that Mike couldn’t resist opening advised Benton he was now a father, or was he, read this book and find out. Benton and Mike’s relationship all rests on whether Mike is willing to be who he should be or if he will be what he thinks he should be. I loved this book, any book that has me laughing out loud more than once is a book I wholeheartedly recommend.
