Another addition to this amazing series, each book in this series can be read alone but you would be missing out on some exciting and sexy stories. Vampires are scary and dangerous but being part of mafia syndicates just adds a new layer of fear.
Twilight just one of the aliases she uses as an agent for Slayers, Inc.is now on the run from the very organization she had devoted her life to like her mother and grandmother did. Killing her alpha to save an innocent has put a target on her back but she hoped they believed she was dead. She is found by a man claiming to be on the Board of Directors for Slayers, Inc. and if she does one assignment for him, he will make sure to fix everything. Unfortunately, she jumped in too fast before realizing she was way over her head with an assignment that was impossible to succeed at and deadly.
Twilight agreed to accept a proposition from a vampire to become a thrall only she found herself part of a blood slave auction. At the auction was Brien Leclerc the Maritime Crown Prince who two years ago she had a quick sexual encounter with inside a bathroom. He never got over her and searched for her when she disappeared and when he saw her at the auction, he knew he had to win the bid. He knew something was up because she would never willingly agree to be sold to a vampire.
It is nice to have money because Brien won with a bid of four million dollars. This was the only auction he had ever attended, and he did not have blood slaves, but he made an exception for a woman he could not get out of his mind. Twilight has no idea what her assignment is and how Brien, who she also never forgot, wound up buying her. Brien brings Twilight to Castle Leclerc on Lilith Island where she is kept surrounded by guards, and a prisoner and he will not let her disappear again.
As much as she hates the circumstances that brought her to Brien, she can’t get enough of him but when she learns what her assignment is she finds herself torn. Brien’s father the Primus is suffering from blood madness and is a danger to everyone around him, especially Twilight if he discovers her importance to his son. Like human mafioso there are betrayals and a fight for leadership only vampires bring new meaning to bloody.
There is nonstop suspense, sex, and a search for those who want a new Primus and are willing to do whatever they have too including murder to get what they want. Brien and Twilight can’t keep away from each other, but he is a vampire, and she is human so if they survive the enemies planning their demise is there any chance for a relationship.
I can’t wait for more in this series and if you are a fan of paranormal romance involving vampires then this is the series for you all you have to do is try one book and you will be hooked like I am.
