Another amazing edition to an amazing series. Siobhan’s brother Bosco is the current King of Winter but she knows that he wants to return home. When the Queen comes to a village in her sled and chooses a young boy to return to the palace with her it seems to be a gift from the gods only noone is actually aware of what happens to these young boys or they choose to ignore it.

The queen chooses a young man to be her sex slave and Bosco has decided he wants out and Siobhan is ready to rescue him. Things don’t go as planned and when she and Bosco are surrounded by the queen’s guards led by her childhood sweetheart and former Winter King Ardan, she uses the one piece of magic she took with her and used it to free him. Unfortunately, leaving before the queen changed him in for a younger model enraged her and death was facing Siobhan. The queen had other plans before Bosco was out of sight she told him that his sister would be frozen for one hundred years and if he did not return at that time she would be killed.

For one hundred years Siobhan has been frozen and when she is thawed out she expects to find her brother there to save her, but he isn’t. As luck would have it at the same time as she is about to be killed Atavantador the last ice dragon enters seeking gold and silver for his defense of the court. Atavantador is out of favor with the queen and as payment she gives him one bag of gold and Siobhan to eat.

Not very happy Atavantador takes his gold and his vassal back to where he lives in Cairngloss. Even if he wanted to eat Siobhan there was little left on her bones after one hundred years in hibernation without food. When she wakes up she finds herself in a room with a man, not an ordinary man but the manservant to the dragon. It is Doyle who over time protects her and feeds her. To save her life she swore loyalty to the dragon not realizing that her small amount of magic would have no affect on him. All she wants to do is return to the Winter Court and find out where her brother is but that doesn’t look to be in the cards.

Doyle has secrets he is keeping from Siobhan, secrets that involve another life and a vow he made almost one thousand years ago. His feelings for Siobhan grow but he can’t reveal his secrets and break his vow. Unknown to Siobhan is that her brother has joined up with Prince Kian and is on their way with an army to destroy the Winter queen. In the meantime Atavantador has vowed to defend the Winter Court and will have to make a decision about whether to follow the Winter Queen or abandon his vow to her.

There is alot going on in this book and I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that Doyle and Siobhan do find solice in each others arms but he still has secrets that he can’t reveal and she is determined to return to the palace and find out about her brother. There is sex, secrets, magic, dragons, elvations and a pedophile queen who robs young boys of their innocence. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and recommend them being read in order.

It will not take long before you find out the secrets but I don’t want to reveal them in this review, they are secrets you should find out on your own.
