This is book three in a wonderful Christmas series and part of the Four Kings Security Universe a Universe I enter happily. In the first two books all the members of the “Boyfriend Collective” have been given an all paid for vacation to Winterhaven paid for by Colton. Colton wanted to experience a perfect old-fashioned Christmas in a town known for their holiday festivals, but this year’s festival is a huge bust and the money the town counts on will just have to wait till the next holiday when hopefully all the problems will be put to rest.
A huge snowstorm left the Ice Castle with leaks in the roof and electrical outage. The Ice Castle is a main draw for visitors, oh that’s another thing the visitors have cancelled. Everyone from the Four Kings Security has rolled up their sleeves and is prepared to bring the Ice Castle back to its former beauty.
The roof is fixed, the electricity is repaired and the supplies that couldn’t be delivered because of the storm have arrived.
All the guys have contacts, favors to call in and the knowledge to fix what needed to be fixed, only one problem how to get people to come. Those that cancelled probably made new arrangements so now that the festival is ready who can bring people in.
The story is also about Giovanni (Gio) and his partner Sacha “Joker” Wilder. Of course, none of the men who now have dogs would go on vacation without them so the house they rented is full of love both human and canine. Gio was diagnosed with a mild case of autonomic neuropathy which has affected his blood pressure and heart rate, so Joker always watches Gio for any signs of trouble.
Unfortunately, with everyone ready for a grand ole time, Joker suffers an accident thanks to his brother Ace. Ace couldn’t get the extension cord to move so he yanked with all his might without realizing it was wrapped around the leg of the ladder Joker was on. He suffered a fractured leg, and the cast and crutches are making it impossible for him to reach Ace and kill him, a very funny moment that made me laugh out loud.
If you haven’t read the first two books you are missing out on some amazing reading and characters. Oh, my bad, I didn’t give praise to the wonderful dogs who Joker has trained, and I want one.
