Nala Dixon is a shifter, and her family leads one of the biggest wolf packs in New England. She is on Christmas break from school where in one more semester she will receive her master’s degree. She is happy to be going home where once she has her degree she will return for good.

The trip home becomes dangerous when it begins to snow, and she realizes she is being followed. An accident riding her bike brought her up close and personal with Andreas Hlavek, a vampire who tasted her blood from the wound in her knee and since then he has been stalking her threatening to get her and drain her dry. Now there is no doubt that it is his car behind her.

Her car is no match for his car, but she is determined to get away and manages to reach a small town where she hopes to lose him. Unfortunately, she hits a snowbank and is stuck leaving her no alternative but to run on foot. As the vampires close in on her they suddenly stop to look at what is standing behind her a sasquatch. Not only a sasquatch but the one she had loved for years until he disappeared, Nala and Harrison have a long way to go to her family and with snow, no car and vampires after them they will be lucky to survive. Harrison has loved Nala for years. She is his mate, but he convinced himself he wasn’t good enough while Nala has loved him and is afraid to express her feelings for fear she will be rejected.

This is a Christmas story, a love story and a suspenseful story about a battle between vampires and shifters that left me sitting at the edge of my seat. Christmas is the time for joy and love but is it a time of joy and love for Nala and Harrison. I highly recommend reading this book. It is a perfect holiday story and since I am writing my review in December with Christmas just around the corner it couldn’t be more perfect.
