This was a short novella but big on sexiness. Darius is a Firebrand Warrior and a djinn who feeds off fear. Unfortunately, he has a huge scar down the side of his face which earns him rejections unless he pays for sex and even then, he has been rejected because of his ugliness.

Darius is the second to Jarek, his stronghold commander and friend and when he is called upon to protect a succubus named Zora the executive assistant at the Ministry of Well Being on Scath he is not a happy camper.

Zora has a stalker sending letters that are getting progressively more violent. The stalker insists she is his mate and when she doesn’t meet him at the places, he tells her to he begins to send threats.

When Zora sees Darius, she is very attracted to him, unlike most succubus she wants to meet someone and have a lasting relationship and, in her eyes, Darius is the man for the job. She sees beauty when she looks at him, something that she will have a hard time convincing him of.

Unfortunately, Darius knows that it won’t take long before Zora runs for the hills it has happened often enough for it to be a reality. Sex, a stalker, a succubus and a djinn have a chance for a HEA but one of them has been hurt so much it is hard to believe.

Surprises, secrets and sex, the book may be short, but it wasn’t boring.
