Travelling to Dnara to find the exiled Vihaans sounded like a great idea. Except…Dnara is nothing like home. Homesick, bored, and confused by the way Jude’s eyes keep drifting over him, being in Dnara brings only chaos and uncertainty into Gale’s life.

With Jude doing everything but climbing into his lap to make his attraction clear, yet putting on the brakes at the strangest times, it’s up to Gale to make the first move and claim his mate. Men might never have been on his radar before, but Gale isn’t about to ignore the true mate bond he thought he would never find.

Jude can fight all he wants, but no one denies the bond. Not when his words bark ‘back off’ and his eyes scream ‘claim me’. Besides, Gale never was any good at doing what he was told.

This is a short story but before you read this review, I want to emphasize the fact that this series must be read in order, or you will be left confused. This book comes between book two and book three and we get a little look at some of the characters that we met before.

We catch up with the group that Keon sent to Dnara to recover exiled Vihaan’s and educate them about the new rules that have been instituted when Keon became Alpha. Gale and Jude, who have spent years together on missions and were roommates, are once again doing their duty. Jude is gay but it was never acknowledged due to the restrictions and punishments associated with same sex pairings.

Gale never even looked at another male, never envisioned being in a sexual relationship with a man and since arriving in Dnara he can’t stop looking at Jude and finds himself feeling the mate bond. Gale is not one to hide his feelings and goes after what he wants, unfortunately every time he makes advances on Jude and even when he goes as far as seducing him much to Jude’s enjoyment Jude pulls away.

Gale grows frustrated to the point if Jude doesn’t show any interest he will return to Vihaan and chose a mate. Some of the exiled we already knew from their story in book two, but it was still enjoyable to catch up with them again. As the mission comes to an end and they prepare to return home Gale still worries if Jude will finally accept the mate bond.

This is a wonderful series and thankfully I began with book one, A Touch of Danger, so each book after is like being reacquainted with old friends.
