An agent for the Bureau of Trans-Species Affairs? That’s the best job in the world. And it’s enough for Terry Brandt, who doesn’t need personal relationships complicating his life. His newest assignment puts him undercover, investigating a Hollywood agent who may have some evil tricks up his sleeve.

Edge is not the man he appears to be. Although he’s a member of the Hollywood agent’s security staff, his true situation is darker and deeper than that. Ordered to seduce the new prospect, Edge finds himself caught in conflicting loyalties.

Haunted by their pasts and tied up in secrets, neither Terry nor Edge can afford to allow passion to interfere with duty. And with danger dogging them, it’s impossible to envision a future together.

Terry Brandt is an agent for the Bureau of Trans-Species Affairs a job he loves and believes is the best job in the world. His new assignment is to investigate and get proof on a Hollywood agent Mr. Whitaker who is up to no good and the Bureau’s hands are tied without proof. Because of his good looks Terry is the perfect agent for the job but he has to get Whitaker to take him on as a client.

Whitaker is guarded by three security guards Edge, Duke and Holt, they belong to Whitaker and do whatever they are told and now Whitaker insists that Edge have sex with Terry something he has been forced to do with other prospects. Edge is strong but recently he has been feeling both mentally and emotionally drained and when he meets Terry he wants to yell at him to run but he does his duty, the only thing he doesn’t mention is that he knows Terry has a gun, the first time he disobeyed.

Edge didn’t have to be pushed into being with Terry because the two of them couldn’t hide their desire for each other. Terry does something no other man has done he has him eat with him, introduces him to music and dancing and treats him with respect something he has never been offered before.

I don’t want to give anything away but there is much more to the three security guards then meets the eye and much more to the horrors that Whitaker subjects his clients and guards to. It is Edge that is always subjected to Whitaker’s torture devices in an attempt to make him stronger, torture that Edge bears almost nightly until Terry becomes aware of what is going on.

I have only read book three and four in this series and have loved each one. I look forward to many more and although they do not need to be read in order I suggest doing so in order not to miss out on some great stories. Each book has violence but also a caring and loving character to heal the wounds.
