Jane Devereux is still getting used to being a newly turned vampire and being a wife but that is just the tip of the iceberg because Jane can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Driving Gaston’s sports car she manages to run over a man, not any man but Santa Claus and the King of the Fae. Surprise, surprise because Santa is real and if he dies so will Christmas joy. With no other choice she turns him into a vampire, part vampire and part fae and when he wakes up there is no doubt that there are a few screws missing in his brain.

Santa keeps singing his favorite song “Grandma got run over by a reindeer” and making things worse he makes up his own songs, i.e. “On the first day of Christmas, a vampire ran over me, while I was peeing on a tree”. The only problem I had with the verses Santa kept making up was I couldn’t stop laughing and had to put the book down while I caught my breath. When they try to get him to drink blood he keeps asking for a milkshake which will do nothing to bring him back to normal.

Dealing with the new hybrid Santa and having to deal with Jane’s father, the governor coming for Christmas to celebrate and learn that not only is his daughter a vampire but she got married without asking him to attend is definitely putting a damper on Christmas. Which one will bother him more is anyone’s guess. The one feeling the most strain over her dad coming is Ethan, Jane’s sexy vampire husband and adding to his stress is what to do about Santa. Apparently everyone is scared to death of Mrs. Claus so what will happen when she discovers her husband is now a vampire. Her reaction is priceless and you have to read it to believe it.

I read this book and did the review on Thanksgiving and am very thankful for Ms. Pulkinen and her ability during a pandemic to give me something to laugh about and I laughed from beginning to end. How can anyone pass up a book with the title “Santa got run over by a vampire” the title alone is an introduction to page after page of laughs.

This is a series that does not have to be read in order but why miss out on all the fun.
