Darik Wilson was normal young man in college until the day he stumbled across a man's body in a local park. When he touched it, the man's ghost appeared. It scared the hell out of Darik as the ghost of Cornell Albright begged him to find his murderer. He was the thirteenth victim of the serial killer dubbed as X for the way he laid out his victims. Cornell told Darik what little he recalled about his killer, which Darik passed on to Detective Lang, who believed in the paranormal. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to find X, who ceased his murderous spree after Cornell's death. Cornell stayed around, unable to move on because X was never caught.

Ten years later, X reappears. Darik is on the scene when the third of his victims is discovered, and with Cornell's help he is able to talk to Morris and relay what he learns to Detective Lang. Now, Darik has two ghosts to contend with. At the same time, he meets Steve Grainger while out jogging. When Steve comes to Darik's costume shop to rent a costume they strike up a tentative friendship, planning to run together at a park the following Sunday morning.

Things don't go quite as they expected when X strikes again, killing a man who, in the early morning light might have been mistaken for Steve. Darik and Steve are there when a woman finds the body, at which point Steve discovers he, too, has the ability to see ghosts.

Now, the problem becomes, was Steve the intended victim? If so, will they be able to find and stop X, with the help of the three ghosts, before he strikes again?

Review Chair for the Paranormal Romance Guild Review Team

I must admit I must have been living under a rock. Up until last month I had never read a story written by author Edward Kendrick. Being a Review Chair for a Book Guild my Reviewers can choose what books they wish to read. With an enormous influx of submissions for Fall, I was able to grab my first……..NOT my last……….

Finding this authors has an such an easy writing style, I had to grab this second submission to read to see if my assertion was accurate. Yup….I am now a fan.

Darik Wilson, Ghost Whisperer is a paranormal, ghost, serial killer, murder mystery! Yes, it’s a mouthful; and so well paced. Meet Darik:

Darik Wilson was taking his usual early morning walk in the park across the street from where he lived, enjoying the fresh air and rising sun, when he happened to glance at a small grove of trees off to the side of the path and saw what would turn out to be the last of X’s victims—X being the name the press had given the serial killer terrorizing the city. The body was lying spread eagled on its stomach on the grass with its head facing east, away from him. Rushing over, he knelt to tentatively touch the throat, trying to determine if the victim might still be alive. When he did, he received the shock of his life. The man’s spirit spoke to him. “Find my killer…please,” it whispered as it began to take shape.

Now I was soooo hooked, and if you can believe it ; it Got Even Better. That ghost was Cornell, then Morris, then Edward….Darik had the Scoobie Gang of Ghosts to work with and a also handsome new ‘friend’ who could be a love interest.

This story was a fast paced, adorable nerd becoming a serious detective to solve a 10 year Serial Killer Mystery…..a must read I do not want to spoil any of it for you all.
