Some things are better left alone
Dane Jones works from home with only his three dogs for company. When he stumbles onto a social media page about urban exploring, he’s curious about different sites around Sacramento that seem like they’d be interesting to investigate. He starts chatting with Griff Warren, and after a few conversations he’s even more excited to go.
Griff Warren is also curious about urban exploring, but he has very little interest in experiencing something paranormal. When the guy he’s been chatting with in the online group is so enthusiastic to go, it’s contagious. They plan to go to a warehouse and while there, experience something they can’t explain.
Dane and Griff were looking for an adventure, but they find more than they bargained for at a deserted farmhouse on the river. When Dane finds an old toy discarded in one of the rooms, both of them are thrown into a world neither understands. Full of cursed objects, strange markings, and powers, neither knows how to handle. Lucky for them, Griff’s Friend knows exactly who can help. #MMParanormal, #UrbanFantasy #Friendstolovers

I had just finished uploading a review on Amazon for BL Maxwell’s Road to Rocktoberfest 2023 when this cover caught my eye….Ghosts, Mystery, MY Bag!!

The Things We Find is easy to enter, as I learned previously by reading this author. Dane and Griff are both young thirties Gay Singles and have found common ground on a site that speaks about investigating empty buildings. Both Griff and Dane are homebodies, this thought pique’s their interest. The Moderator Sid has suggested a building he has been in numerous times, an old Industrial Warehouse.

Both Griff and Dane have communicated the thought, that they are not looking for Ghost Busters, just something to see and visit. Assured by the Moderator they discuss time and date to meet and try this.

Meeting at the building the sky darkens and it starts pouring rain, which explains the noise of the rain hitting the metal roof, as they walk through this immense empty building. Griff and Dane pass a large metal wheel turning by itself….There is no power in the building and this is cause to stop and speculate. This causes them to want to leave as this was very startling and the pounding of the rain became louder and louder. They felt leaving was imperative and did.

Retelling their story to Sid the moderator, made me think he seemed to pacify them with what it could have been and suggested they try other sites on their list, like a small unoccupied home. In the mean time the companionship he two were sharing with each other was growing.

Since they still had time over their time off, they decided that something smaller might be just the thing, the immense warehouse did raise their hackles a bit, But not super spooky. So they chose a small empty house, a bit off the beaten track. It was really in disrepair….Had lights and battery packs with them and were looking forward to a fun day.

I will stop here….I must say I was reading, this you understand so I was holding my kindle….so if I was watching this I would have had my hands over my eyes!!!!!…..this book really is interesting; filled with lots of SPOOKINESS and I do not want to spoil it for you…
