For Demon Warrior Rayner, the slightest contact means immense pain and burning, blistering skin. The last thing on his mind is locating his fated mate, until he finds himself in a human hospital, where student nurse Rosalyn Manar triggers desires within him long forgotten.

There are no such things as monsters.

At least, that’s what everybody told Rosalyn growing up.
They were wrong. Monsters really do exist, and they’re coming for her.

Caught in the middle of a brewing war between terrifying creatures, Rosalyn must learn to trust the demons set on keeping her safe. But can she accept her fate and trust a man who she doesn't know? A man who awakens a burning passion with visions of pleasure.

This book puts demons in the role of heroes, heroes who protect humans and Others and stars Rayner a Demon Warrior cursed by the very Council who he works for to suffer burns all over his body whenever he is touched, a Council whose leader gained his position through lies, betrayals and murder. Rayner and his brothers fight the Soulless who once were no different than zombies but now are evolving, speaking, using weapons, smarter and fighting back and could in time become too much for the Council and the Other.

After a battle with the Soulless Rayner finds himself in a hospital, a human hospital being touched and fighting and screaming until one nurse recognized that he is being burned everywhere he is touched. Rosalyn is working toward her dream of being a doctor when she recognizes the pain Rayner is suffering and once again, she is convinced that she is looking at a demon. Since she was young, she has seen creatures that should only exist in books and movies and after the death of her parents at the age of three she went from relative to relative until ending up at a psychiatric hospital till she aged out. Now face to face with a demon she once again wonders if what she saw as a child was truly just the imaginings of a child as she was told over and over again.

When Rayner is taken from the hospital by one of his brothers before their existence is revealed all that were there had their memories wiped only Rosalyn remembered everything and especially the demon she couldn’t get out of her mind. Rayner and Rosalyn are drawn together and their feelings become stronger but he can’t be touched and she is still weary of what she has gotten into. The Soulless are apparently after her and for what reason is unknown but Rayner will do anything to keep her safe and that mean keeping her with him and his brothers.

Rosalyn is able to keep the noises that invade Rayner’s head quiet and she can’t be read and her mind can’t be altered like the others at the hospital. Raynor is about to learn that there was a lot about his past that will come back bringing danger to both of them. I loved this story but there are a lot of unanswered questions which hopefully will be answered in the next book. I am definitely not a lover of cliffhangers and although this book did leave me hanging, I still couldn’t put it down and look forward to getting answers in the next chapter.
